“We must always be willing to challenge ourselves to learn about the rapid changes within our industry, and yet still account for as many commercial variables as possible.”

— Darby Hogan, Penn University student and one of the AWESOME Scholars who attended the 2015 CSCMP Conference, in an essay about her experience. Beginning in 2013, AWESOME has sponsored 12 women studying supply chain management and related programs at leading universities to participate in both the CSCMP conference and the AWESOME Symposium.

The process of selecting 2016 Scholars is beginning, and recipients will be announced at the AWESOME Symposium on April 27-29. Faculty members from top universities are asked to nominate a young woman demonstrating superior supply chain leadership potential currently enrolled – and who also will be enrolled in the fall of 2016 — in the university’s MBA, MS or undergraduate supply chain program. A committee of supply chain leaders conducts a review of the applications, and selects the top five scholarship recipients.

The AWESOME Scholarship covers costs for both the CSCMP conference and the AWESOME Symposium, including conference registration, transportation expenses to and from the event, lodging, and a stipend to cover incidental expenses. After each event, recipients submit an essay about their experience and its impact on their leadership development.
