The Chicago Network (TCN) has released its 17th Annual Census, monitoring the progress of women in the boardrooms, executive suites and as top earners in Chicago’s 50 largest publicly reporting companies. The report includes both encouraging and discouraging facts. For example, 20% of all new executive officers at these companies are women, up from 15.3% in 2013. Yet, 92% of top earners in The Chicago 50 are male.

The Chicago Network (TCN) is an organization of 400 leading women in Chicago’s business, professional, cultural, nonprofit and educational communities.

TCN encourages its members to share the census information with their networks. Ann Drake, AWESOME’s founder and a TCN member, said, “Through AWESOME we are making our own headway in advancing women supply chain leaders. At the same time, we’re interested in the overall progress of women as leaders because there are still many frontiers, and we can learn from what’s happening in other areas.”
