Syracuse University Presents Salzberg Medallion to Two AWESOME Leaders

In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management’s H.H. Franklin Center for Supply Chain Management at the University of Syracuse, the 2019 Salzberg Medallion for lifetime achievement will be presented to AWESOME founder Ann Drake. The Medallion for supply chain excellence will be presented to Johnson & Johnson and accepted by Kathy Wengel, J&J’s EVP and Chief Global Supply Chain Officer and an AWESOME Advisor.

The Whitman School of Management is home to the nation’s first supply chain management program. The annual Salzberg Memorial Lecture Program, scheduled this year for October 17, is a central component of the Whitman School’s Franklin Center and is celebrating its 70th Anniversary.

Ann Drake is being recognized for her achievements as CEO of DSC Logistics from 1994 through 2018, her lead role in founding AWESOME, and her involvement in organizations focused on the global supply chain, the nation’s transportation system, and the future of women’s leadership.

Johnson & Johnson’s recognition comes from being one of the largest and most complex global supply chains in industry and for the company’s adherence to its Credo, its drive for innovation, and its sustainability efforts.

The Salzberg Medallion is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious awards in the field of transportation and supply chain management, based on the caliber of honorees as well as the programs rigorous selection process.
