Women leaders from all directions and all dimensions of the supply chain field came to Chicago for the second annual AWESOME Symposium on May 15. A full day of networking surrounded a line-up of sessions focusing on supply chain changes and trends, leadership strategies, and programs for developing future leaders.

AWESOME (Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management and Education) is the industry-wide initiative launched in January 2013 to advance women supply chain leaders.

The 2014 Symposium opened with remarks by AWESOME founder, Ann Drake, CEO of DSC Logistics. The event concluded with the presentation of the first AWESOME Legendary Leadership Award – the “ALL” Award — to Heather Sheehan, Vice President, Indirect Sourcing and Logistics, Danaher Corporation, and Kathryn Wengel, Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain.

As with the first AWESOME Symposium in May 2013, key insights and observations will be published and posted on www.awesomeleaders.org as “Collective Wisdom,” a listening-based record of up-to-date thinking by supply chain leaders.
