A session powered by AWESOME and moderated by AWESOME Executive Director Dr. Nancy Nix at the 2017 “Jump Start” conference polled participants about demands they are getting from their customers. Although the need for speed remains a concern, the biggest demand is for greater visibility of what is happening in their supply chain.

Also taking part in the discussion were two other AWESOME leaders, Shari Boston, VP, Global Sourcing & Supply Chain, ConvaTec Inc., and an AWESOME Advisor, and Erin Donnelly, Director of Transportation for The Home Depot. The conference is sponsored by SMC3.

The discussion focused on retailers’ need to grow the omni-channel experience as more consumers elect for “click-to-buy” shopping, putting on pressure for faster, better service. The three supply chain leaders also talked about the newest and biggest challenges facing supply chains as well as what opportunities exist for 3PLs, carrier and technology solutions partners.
