Annette Danek-Akey has been promoted to EVP, Supply Chain, Penguin Random House and named to the company’s U.S. board. Annette and AWESOME Executive Director Heather Sheehan will open the November 14th Regional Event in Jersey City, New Jersey, with an Up-Close Conversation.

The AWESOME Northeast Regional Event is the fifth of such events held around the U.S. to give senior women leaders in supply chain the opportunity to connect in a small-group setting. The upcoming event will offer new content and focus on ways leaders can use the AWESOME Reach Framework to boost their own career and support the advancement of women to higher leadership positions.

According to Heather Sheehan, “We’re excited about hearing Annette’s personal perspective on her very successful career. With her promotion to EVP and her board selection, Annette is paving the way on the importance of supply chain and how it can be a strategic advantage for a company.”

Most recently serving as SVP Supply Chain for Penguin Random House, Annette joined Bantam Doubleday Dell in 1996, prior to the two publishing firms’ merger. In announcing Annette’s promotion, and new role on the U.S. board, Madeline McIntosh, President of Penguin Random House U.S., said, “Annette and her team have continued to set the gold standard for supply-chain excellence on a global basis. Throughout her long career with us, Annette has…demonstrated an unwavering willingness to rise up to meet any challenge, and has always done so with her signature ‘yes’ attitude.”

Annette also serves as President of the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) and was named a 2019 Rainmaker by DC Velocity.
