An article on forbes.com written by Ph.d. and leadership consultant Cindy Wahler contends the reason women are not advancing in business leadership roles faster than they are is because diversity hasn’t been tied to a financial model basing compensation on achievement of diversity goals.
In “Want To Help Women In Business Advance? Here’s The Missing Link,” she writes, “Senior leadership should be rated on metrics that include 3 key targets. Meeting objectives, demonstrating the right leadership behaviors and achieving a diversity target. Annual bonuses must be tied to all 3 levers.”
She also observes, “Women cannot and will not get ahead without men also leading the battle at the top of the house.”
