The online publication of MHI (Material Handling Industry) recently featured an article entitled “More women needed in supply chain management” and named AWESOME as an initiative addressing the issue. The article quoted statistics from SCM World showing “women account for 37% of students enrolled in university supply chain courses, but only 5% of top-level supply chain positions at Fortune 500 companies are filled by women.
Since its founding in early 2013 by Ann Drake, CEO of DSC Logistics, AWESOME has held two symposiums, an executive forum, and several other events to provide women supply chain leaders with opportunities for networking, collaboration, learning, and leadership development.
