An interview with AWESOME Advisor Lillian Dukes, Principal and President of LAD Consulting, appears in Exceptional People magazine. Lillian has enjoyed a 25-year career in aviation, with leadership positions at companies such as American Airlines, American Eagle Airlines, Spirit AeroSystems, and General Electric. More recently, her work has branched out in a humanitarian direction as a committed leader for the Haitian charity Fondation Enfant Jesus.
In the Exceptional People interview, Lillian talks about her initial career choice (“My career was birthed from my love of math.”) and career mobility (“It was not uncommon for me to change positions because the joy in my work had waned.”) She also talks about the necessity of encouraging young women to enter STEM fields and says she feels strongly that “Reaching back and helping the next generation is our responsibility — not an option.
