Jeffery Tobias Halter, who was featured as a speaker and panel moderator at the 2018 AWESOME Symposium, believes that a women’s leadership initiative is in the best interest of today’s CEOs. His LinkedIn article is titled “CEOs, Did You Know a Women’s Leadership Initiative Can Solve Two of Your Biggest Business Challenges?”

Jeffery is a gender strategist and the President of YWomen, a strategic consulting company focused on engaging men in women’s leadership advancement. He is the former Director of Diversity Strategy for The Coca-Cola Company and author of WHY WOMEN, The Leadership Imperative to Advancing Women and Engaging Men.

In his recent article, the two challenges he says were identified as primary concerns for CEOs by the Conference Board Survey, C-Suite Challenge 2019 are hiring/recruiting and developing the next generation of leaders. He goes on to analyze five trends in light of the current talent shortage faced by many industries and contends that “focusing on women, people of color and new entrants to the workforce are critical to addressing the need to cultivate and retain talent.”

He then offers suggestions about CEO actions than can be used to revisit a company’s culture and develop its pipeline.

AWESOME’s tradition of having the Symposium include a discussion on engaging men to advance women will be continued in 2019 with a session led by Bonnie Fetch, author of (Un)Skirting the Issues: A Guide for the Well-Intentioned Man in Today’s Workplace.
