Gemma Fillmore takes new role with retailer URBN

Fillmore-GemmaGemma Fillmore has joined URBN, Inc., as Director, Global Transportation and Logistics. URBN, Inc. brands include Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, BHLDN, and Terrain. In her new role, Gemma has global responsibility for transportation and logistics, and P&L responsibility for over $200M logistics spend and global operations. This includes wholesale, retail bricks and mortar stores, and ecommerce direct to consumer and omnichannel operations.

Gemma’s career spans multiple industries and countries. Gemma has more than 25 years of progressive supply chain responsibility in Fortune 500 companies such as Medco, Campbell Soup Company, Kraft Foods, Nabisco, Reckitt Benckiser and Exel Logistics. Most recently, she was Vice President Global Transportation at Ascena Retail Group. She led the transformation of Ascena Retail shared services model for Global Logistics from a decentralized brand specific model.

Gemma majored in Zoology and Sociology and completed her education in the United Kingdom . She was a panelist at the 2014 CSCMP Conference session, powered by AWESOME, titled “Leveraging Networks to Achieve Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain.” The session featured Gemma and other supply chain leaders from CSCMP and AWESOME discussing the future of women’s leadership and how women are changing companies, customer relationships, and supply chain performance for the better.
