Francesca DeBiase, Chief Supply Chain and Sustainability Officer for McDonald’s, has been named to The 2019 Top 100 Corporate Social Responsibility Influence Leaders List published by Assent Compliance. Francesca received the AWESOME Legendary Leadership (ALL) Award in 2017 and spoke at the Symposium that year about her dual role leading McDonald’s global supply chain and sustainability initiatives.

To identify individuals whose efforts contribute to improvements throughout global supply chains, Assent, a supply chain data management company, utilizes independent research by Lucas Taylor, University of Notre Dame MBA, and LDT Consulting. The selection process uses a scoring algorithm and reflects the evolving regulatory landscape.

Francesca’s description on the list says, “As Chief Supply Chain and Sustainability Officer for one of the world’s largest companies, DeBiase is working to ensure McDonald’s as well as its franchisees and suppliers are setting a standard for what it means to be a responsible corporate citizen.”

Francesca is leading McDonald’s Scale For Good initiative, which the company has undertaken because “as one of the world’s largest restaurant companies, we have the responsibility and opportunity to take action on some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges in the world today.” As part of this initiative, McDonald’s is addressing areas such as climate change, beef sustainability, packaging and recycling, commitment to families, and youth opportunity.
