In this candid conversation, she’ll talk about her leadership journey and how she was inspired by successful women in her network, what motivated her when she started AWESOME, how she sees women advancing in our field and beyond, and how the AWESOME leaders in the room can build momentum and increase our impact on the future of women’s supply chain leadership, turning ripples of action into waves of change.

Jeffery Tobias Halter, author of Why Women – The Leadership Imperative to Advancing Women and Engaging Men, will introduce this session with a ground-breaking presentation about the leadership imperative to move your organization to a deeply internalized approach regarding gender differences; executed with a sense of urgency, to create competitive advantage. Jeffery will share insights about how to (1) operationalize your company’s business case for women in the marketplace and workplace, (2) create an integrated women’s leadership strategy with scorecards and measures to drive organizational accountability, and (3) engage male champions as advocates and sponsors for women’s leadership advancement. Following Jeffery’s remarks, he will lead a discussion with industry leaders who will share insights about how their organizations are advancing women and engaging men.

Beyond Supply Chain – Leveraging Supply Chain Leadership to Make a Difference

Option 1: Tour of Disney’s Automated Textile Supply Chain
Most of the 20 million visitors to the Magic Kingdom each year see only what is out in front. AWESOME has arranged a special tour to see the backstage secrets, technology, and mechanical marvels of one of the world’s largest laundry facilities. This unique behind-the-scenes tour will look at an important aspect of the Disney supply chain in action will show you the real magic.

Option 2: Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
The 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, held February 28 through May 28, 2018, offers an array of attractions, breath-taking garden spaces and dozens of world-renowned Disney-themed topiaries. With this self-guided option, you can enjoy it all as you prefer – with a small group of your peers or on your own.

Option 3: The Inside Story of Epcot Gardens of the World

In conjunction with the Flower & Garden Festival, this behind-the-scenes tour will explore and explain the role of landscaping at Walt Disney World Resort and how Disney uses various plant materials and gardening techniques to develop a theme. You’ll also come away with ideas shared by experts of how to apply Disney landscaping techniques at home.
