AWESOME’s signature event -– a Symposium held annually beginning in 2013 — brings together women in diverse senior leadership roles throughout supply chain. Participants in AWESOME’s Fifth Anniversary Symposium were involved in networking, discussions, Up-Close Conversations, and interactive dialogue for the purpose of advancing women’s supply chain leadership. This invitation-only event for leaders in the 1000-member AWESOME network (read Criteria for membership) also offered a special program for Emerging Leaders recommended by AWESOME network members.

The University Club of Chicago – the ideal setting for an AWESOME Symposium
The venue for the 2017 Symposium sits on Chicago’s famed Michigan Avenue, overlooking Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. Symposium sessions will take place in rooms throughout the 14-story structure, including Cathedral Hall, an architecturally stunning space with a three-story vaulted interior and 14 stained glass windows depicting educational values and institutions. Founders of UCC, a group of college alumni, set out to make the club “an environment where excellence thrives.”

Some Highlights of the Symposium
On Day 3 of the 2017 Symposium — Friday, May 5 — participants will continue networking and learning by one of three special downtown Chicago. Each one is unique and gives you an “insider’s” experience of some of Chicago’s mind-expanding opportunities.
- 1871: the impressive new Center for Technology and Entrepreneurship in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart – see its creative workspace design and learn about its educational programs, incubators and accelerators for aspiring entrepreneurs.
- A guided walk through Chicago’s renowned architectural wonders with a special focus on the evolution of the skyscraper
