Women leaders from all directions and all dimensions of the supply chain field came to Chicago for the second annual AWESOME Symposium on May 15. A full day of networking surrounded a line-up of sessions focusing on supply chain changes and trends, leadership strategies, and programs for developing future leaders.  The event concluded with the presentation of the first AWESOME Legendary Leadership Award – the “ALL” Award — to Heather Sheehan, Vice President, Indirect Sourcing and Logistics, Danaher Corporation, and Kathryn Wengel, Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain.

In their own careers, how did they overcome obstacles and did they find ways to help other women advance? As a woman among mostly men, do they see the acquisition of certain skills as being critical to gaining respect and credibility?
