Deb DeHaas, Deloitte’s Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner, Center for Board Effectiveness, will interview Roz Brewer, Starbucks COO, in an Up-Close Conversation at the AWESOME Symposium – May 1-3 in Seattle.
Deb DeHaas recently completed a six- year term as the chief inclusion officer for Deloitte US, where she drove Deloitte’s strategy to recruit, develop, and promote a diverse workforce. She previously served on the Deloitte LLP Board of Directors, represented the US Firms on the Deloitte Canada Board of Directors, was a member of the Deloitte US Executive Committee, and was Deloitte’s managing partner for the central region – the first woman to serve in that role.
Roz Brewer, who has been Starbucks COO since 2016 is the first woman and the first African American to serve as Starbucks chief operating officer. Prior to joining Starbucks, Roz served as president and chief executive officer of Sam’s Club, the members-only warehouse channel of Walmart Inc. She made history by becoming the first woman and first African American to lead a Walmart division. She is featured in the “Game Changers” American Enterprise exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
