At the 2017 AWESOME Symposium, one of the sessions featured business school deans talking about achieving gender equity in business school and beyond. A recent ranking of MBA programs by The Economist placed Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, led by Sally Blount, as #1 and UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, led by Judy Olian, as #6.
An article on find-mba.com summarizes the rankings and points out that American MBA programs dominated the list, scoring as 16 of the top 20 schools. After Kellogg, the highest ranked schools were University of Chicago, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, and UCLA.
In related news, Sally Blount announced in September that she will step down as dean after a seven-year tenure as the first woman to lead a top business school. Northwestern President Morton Schapiro said, “Since becoming dean in 2010, Sally Blount has been a bold leader for Kellogg and an inspirational trailblazer in business education and beyond. She has expanded Kellogg’s global reach and reputation and laid a strong foundation for its future.” Sally announced her decision in this video.
