DC Velocity  names three AWESOME leaders as Rainmakers

Among the eight supply chain professionals named as 2019 Rainmakers by DC Velocity, three are AWESOME leaders. They are Dr. Nancy Nix, Executive Director Emeritus of AWESOME, Annette Danek-Akey, SVP of Fulfillment for Penguin Random House, and Kathy Fulton, Executive Director of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN).

Prior to her role as AWESOME’s first Executive Director in 2014 and then Executive Director Emeritus in 2017, Nancy was Executive Director of the EMBA Program and Professor of Supply Chain Practice at the Neeley School of Business at TCU in Fort Worth, TX. Before becoming an educator, she held supply chain roles for DuPont and Reliance Industries. She was active in the leadership of the Council of Supply Chain Management Profesionals, serving on the Executive Board for eight years and as Chair of the CSCMP Board for one year.

Annette manages the distribution, transportation, customer service, and fulfillment systems for Penguin Random House, overseeing an operation that employs more than 1,700 people and ships an average of 1.5 million books per day. In April of 2019, she was named president of the board of the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC).

As Executive Director of ALAN, Kathy she leads a non-profit organization that provides supply chain assistance for humanitarian relief efforts in disaster areas. She spoke at the 2018 AWESOME Symposium in a session titled “Beyond Supply Chain – Making a Difference” about her work and the supply chain path that led to her current role. Prior to joining ALAN, Kathy was Senior Manager of information Technology Services at Saddle Creek Logistics Services.
