D_LENTZDebbie Lentz, a 2014 AWESOME Advisor and panelist at the 2013 AWESOME Symposium, is serving as conference chair for this year’s Global Conference of CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) in San Antonio, Texas on September 21-24. Her leadership role for the conference draws on more than 30 years of supply chain, IS, global procurement and operations experience, most recently as SVP of Customer Service & Logistics for Kraft Foods Group.

This year’s conference, reflecting the theme “Cornerstones and Connections,” focuses on cross-industry learning, sharing best practices, finding solutions for problems and networking with other supply chain professionals by way of six “cornerstones”—major platforms pertinent to the supply chain field. One of the cornerstones – Talent and Career – features a track on diversity and women’s supply chain leadership that, according to Debbie, was inspired by AWESOME. The lead coordinator for that track is Jennifer Nix, Director, Strategic Partnerships for DSC Logistics and also a panelist at the 2013 AWESOME Symposium.

Another AWESOME Advisor directly involved in leading the CSCMP conference is Dr Nancy Nix, who is serving as a moderator for one of the diversity sessions, “Leveraging Networks to Achieve Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain.” Additional AWESOME Advisors participating as panelists are Shari Boston, Sandy Evett, and Bola Delano.

In addition to Talent and Career, the full line-up of conference cornerstones includes:

  • Economic Forecasts, Benchmarks and Surveys
  • Thought Leadership and Innovation
  • Manufacturing, Planning and Sourcing
  • Transportation, Distribution and Warehousing
  • The Customer
