CSCMP announces dynamic speakers for 2015 Conference

Two well-known executives will play leading roles as speakers at the global conference of CSCMP in San Diego on September 27-30. Howard Schultz, chairman, president and CEO of Starbucks, will be the keynote speaker. Dave Clark, SVP of Worldwide Operations and Customer Service, Amazon will be the major session speaker.

As with the past two CSCMP conferences, AWESOME will be an active participant to raise the visibility of women’s supply chain leadership and provide programming on the topic of women’s supply chain leadership. AWESOME also holds a special networking reception on Sunday evening, in addition to conference events.

Howard Schultz, who will speak on Monday, September 28, joined Starbucks in 1982 as director of operations and marketing when there were only four retail stores within the chain. He left Starbucks for a short period of time, but returned in 1987 as its chief executive officer, and purchased the company with the help of local investors. Chairman since 2000, he resumed the role of president and chief executive officer in 2008. Since his return, he has led a transformation of the company, bringing it to sustainable and profitable growth with a renewed focus on the company’s coffee heritage, innovation, and the customer experience.

Dave Clark, who will speak on Tuesday, September 29, oversees Amazon’s customer service team, supply chain, transportation and fulfillment networks in North America, Japan, Europe, China, and India. He has held several key roles at Amazon since joining the company in 1999, including general manager of one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers in Pennsylvania, regional director of operations, and overseeing Amazon’s entire North American operations network. He was promoted to his current position in January 2013.
