The global conference of CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) – from September 21-24 in San Antonio, Texas — will offer a track of six sessions focusing on diversity and inclusion. Key topics featured in the six sessions are global career experiences, creative approaches to a flexible workplace, professional networks and how they can be leveraged, lessons from leading supply chain women, diversity programs that enhance competitiveness, and practical methods for leading balanced teams.
The supply chain leadership initiative AWESOME (Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management, and Education) collaborated with CSCMP to select topics and develop the line-up of presenters, moderators and panelists.
Session 1 on Monday, September 22, from 10-11:30 a.m. is “International Assignments: Why a Global Resume Is Becoming Key to the C-Suite.” The moderator of this session is Sandy Evett, VP, Customer Service and Logistics, Kraft Foods. Panelists include Shari Boston, VP Supply Chain, ConvaTec; Miguel Gonzalez, Procurement Director, Transportation and Logistics, Kraft Foods Group; and Jane Kaiser, Director B2B Supply Chain, Kimberly-Clark.
Session 2 on Monday, September 22, from 2:15-3:15 p.m. is “The New Workplace: How Companies Are Responding to the Needs of the Modern Professional and Contemporary Family.” This interactive session will be led by Janel Firestein, Life Sciences Industry Leader, Clarkston Consulting.
Session 3 on Monday, September 22, from 3:45-4:45 p.m. is “Leveraging Networks to Achieve Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain.” The moderator of this session is Dr. Nancy W. Nix, Principle, Nix Associates. Panelists include Bola Delano, Deputy Director, Illinois Department of Transportation; Ann Drake, Chairman and CEO, DSC Logistics; and Gemma Fillmore, VP Global Transportation and Logistics, Ascena Retail Group, Inc.
Session 4 on Tuesday, September 23, from 10-11:30 a.m. is “Lessons from the Top.” The moderator is Susan Purdum, Instructor in Supply Chain Management, The Smeal College of Business for Penn State University. Panelists include Debbie Lentz, former SVP, Customer Service and Logistics, Kraft; Elizabeth Nohe, VP Supply Chain, Morton Salt; Linda Wood, VP Operations Services, RJ Reynolds; and Francesca DeBiase, Corporate VP, Worldwide Supply Chain Management, McDonald’s Corporation.
Session 5 on Tuesday, September 23, from 2:15-3:15 is “Diversity Programs that Gain the Competitive Advantage.” The moderator is Donna Palumbo, Manager, The Walt Disney Company. Panelists include

Session 6 on Tuesday, September 23, from 3:45-4:45 is “Building and Fostering Balanced Teams that Win.” The moderator is Valerie Bonebrake, SVP, Tompkins International. Panelists include Neil Collins, Senior Client Partner, Global Sector Leader, Logistics and Transportation Services, Korn Ferry; Rosaleena Marcellus, Senior Partner, Leadership and Talent Consulting, Korn Ferry; and Mike Stewart, President and Chief Executive Officer, Predictive Group.
