Debbie Lentz to lead Toys R Us Supply Chain

Our AWESOME advisor, Debbie Lentz, has taken a new position as SVP and Chief Supply Chain Officer for Toys R Us based in Wayne, NJ. She was formally SVP of Customer Service and Logistics for Kraft Foods. In her new role, she is responsible for U.S. distribution and customs compliance, global importing and exporting, fleet operations and domestic transportation, inventory planning and allocation as well as e-commerce fulfilment, while driving efforts to significantly improve in-stock position in-store and online. In addition, Debbie will lead supply chain and logistics strategy development for international markets with efforts to improve supply chain efficiencies globally. Continue reading

New panelist joins CSCMP conference session on leveraging networks

Ellen Voie, President and CEO, Women In Trucking Association, will join five other leading women in the supply chain field to discuss “Leveraging Networks to Achieve Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain” on Monday September 22 from 3:45 to 4:45 at the CSCMP Global Conference in San Antonio. Jennifer Nix leads AWESOME-CSCMP collaboration on conference track

Jennifer Nix has coordinated the collaboration between AWESOME (Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management, and Education) and CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) to plan a six-session Diversity and Inclusion Track for CSCMP’s 2014 global conference in San Antonio, September 21-24. Nix is Director, Strategic Partnerships, DSC Logistics, and a member of the Women’s Leadership Council at DSC, and she is also President of the CSCMP Chicago Roundtable. Continue reading

First woman selected as executive director of pro basketball union

Michele Roberts, a Washington, D.C., attorney, has become the first woman to head up a major North American sports union. She will serve as executive director of the National Basketball Players Association and was voted in by NBPA executive committee members and team player representatives. Conference diversity sessions address high-priority issues

The global conference of CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) – from September 21-24 in San Antonio, Texas — will offer a track of six sessions focusing on diversity and inclusion. Key topics featured in the six sessions are global career experiences, creative approaches to a flexible workplace, professional networks and how they can be leveraged, lessons from leading supply chain women, diversity programs that enhance competitiveness, and practical methods for leading balanced teams. Debbie Lentz, a 2014 AWESOME Advisor and panelist at the 2013 AWESOME Symposium, is serving as conference chair for this year’s Global Conference of CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) in San Antonio, Texas on September 21-24. Her leadership role for the conference draws on more than 30 years of supply chain, IS, global procurement and operations experience, most recently as SVP of Customer Service & Logistics for Kraft Foods Group.
