ExpressJet Names Alexandria Marren Chief Operating Officer

Alexandria Marren, one of our AWESOME Advisors, has taken a new position at SkyWest, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer of ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. As COO, Alex will oversee ExpressJet’s operations and activities, including Flight Operations, InFlight operations, Maintenance and partner relationships. Advisors meet to develop AWESOME priorities

At the September 2014 meeting of AWESOME Advisors, participants reviewed AWESOME’s dramatic growth and progress since its founding in January 2013 and focused on priorities and plans going forward. AWESOME’s first Executive Director, Dr. Nancy Nix presented results of one-on-one interviews with AWESOME constituents and other industry leaders.

According to Dr. Nix, “In a relatively short period of time, AWESOME has become recognized in the industry as a dynamic, pro-active force for women’s leadership. Women win top roles in two major law firms

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, a woman has been named as the first female chair at each of two major U.S. law firms. The article also quoted statistics from the National Association of Women Lawyers, showing that women account for one-third of U.S. lawyers and judges, but make up just 17% of equity partners at the nation’s 200 largest law firms. AWESOME, the initiative founded in early 2013 to advance women supply chain leaders, released the third volume of “Reality Check” – up-to-date insights and information on women’s supply chain leadership — at the global conference of CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) on September 21.
