Video on Loyola University’s new supply chain initiative features Ann Drake

The Quinlan School of Business of Loyola University Chicago is launching a major initiative on supply chain management and has produced a video featuring Ann Drake, CEO of DSC Logistics and founder of AWESOME. In the video, Ann shares insights from her career, as well as her thoughts on the importance of a comprehensive approach to managing the supply chain and thevalue of leadership, partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork in delivering customer value.

Gemma Fillmore takes new role with retailer URBN

Gemma Fillmore has joined URBN, Inc., as Director, Global Transportation and Logistics. URBN, Inc. brands include Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, BHLDN, and Terrain. In her new role, Gemma has global responsibility for transportation and logistics, and P&L responsibility for over $200M logistics spend and global operations. Alexandria Marren, one of our AWESOME Advisors, has taken a new position at SkyWest, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer of ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. As COO, Alex will oversee ExpressJet’s operations and activities, including Flight Operations, InFlight operations, Maintenance and partner relationships. Advisors meet to develop AWESOME priorities

At the September 2014 meeting of AWESOME Advisors, participants reviewed AWESOME’s dramatic growth and progress since its founding in January 2013 and focused on priorities and plans going forward. AWESOME’s first Executive Director, Dr. Nancy Nix presented results of one-on-one interviews with AWESOME constituents and other industry leaders.

According to Dr. Nix, “In a relatively short period of time, AWESOME has become recognized in the industry as a dynamic, pro-active force for women’s leadership.
