Building an AWESOME Brand Recap

November 18, 20212 minute read

At the recent AWESOME Scholar CONNECT! event, our 2021 AWESOME Excellence in Education Scholars met with Stephanie Powell Thomas, PhD, Associate Professor of Practice, Executive Director of Women Impacting Supply Chain Excellence (WISE) at the University of Arkansas, and AWESOME Advisory Board member, to hear her thoughts on everything from landing their first jobs to being their authentic selves at work.

Stephanie has coached hundreds of future women supply chain leaders over the years, so she provided our Scholars with tangible, proven advice on resumes, interviews, networking, and building confidence. Each of our Scholars is unique, accomplished, and determined to make an impact in the supply chain industry, so learning from Stephanie about how to launch their careers was incredibly valuable.

When asked about the session, one Scholar said:

“My biggest takeaway is that no matter where someone is at in their career—their brand, how they represent themselves, and their reputation is important always!”

Thank you to Stephanie for leading this session and giving our Scholars the tools they need to solidify and elevate their personal brands as they enter the workforce. Thank you also to our Scholar and Fellow alumnae – Hannah Walcher (2016 Scholar), Namuun Purevdorj (2020 AWESOME/MIT Fellow), McKenzie Meehan (2020 Scholar) – who helped facilitate the breakout group conversations! For more information on our AWESOME Scholars Programs, click here
