As AWESOME continues to advance women supply chain leaders, it gains strength and energy from the power of one…to the power of the group…to the power of the network. AWESOME is playing a significant role in transforming the future of women’s supply chain leadership because the passion of one person – Ann Drake, founder of AWESOME and CEO of DSC Logistics – ignited the attention, the interest and the commitment of others, equally determined to recognize, develop and leverage the talents of women leaders at all levels. Since AWESOME’s founding in 2013, Dr. Nancy Nix has joined as Executive Director and Heather Sheehan as Director, Member Engagement and Sponsorships.
Members of the AWESOME network – all women in diverse senior supply chain roles with different types of companies – now number more than 850. They connect with each other through events, such as the annual AWESOME Symposium and sessions at the CSCMP Conference, and also participate as experts on panels and in programs powered by AWESOME throughout the year. A special group of AWESOME Advisors, first formed in 2013, works with leaders of the organization to engage new members of the network and provide input into and direction for AWESOME’s goals, priorities, and plans as the network expands and the initiatives move forward.
In 2014, for the first time, we presented the AWESOME Legendary Leadership (ALL) Award to two supply chain professionals for their remarkable achievements. Presented again in 2015 and 2016, the ALL Award has now honored a total of six extraordinary women.
We’re also putting the “Spotlight On” outstanding women leaders who are setting the standards for leadership all across the industry. And our AWESOME Women Behind the Scenes form the core team for AWESOME activities and communications.
