Carla Harris, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, joins the leading executives who will speak at the 2019 AWESOME Symposium – May 1-3 in Seattle. In addition to serving as a senior client advisor at Morgan Stanley, she is the author of two books: Expect to Win and Strategize to Win.
Prior to her current role, Carla headed the Emerging Manager Platform at Morgan Stanley, the equity capital markets effort for the consumer and retail industries. She has extensive industry experience in the technology, media, retail, telecommunications, transportation, industrial, and health care sectors. She was appointed by President Obama to chair the National Women’s Business Council.
Recognized as one of the most respected and successful women in business, Carla wrote Expect to Win: 10 Proven Strategies for Thriving in the Workplace in 2010 to share lessons she learned throughout her career. Her book was updated in 2017 with a new author’s note and chapter on building effective business relationships.
In 2014, Carla wrote Strategize to Win: The New Way to Start Out, Step Up, or Start Over in Your Career to offer readers tools to get started; get “unstuck” from bad situations; redirect momentum; and position themselves to manage their careers no matter the environment.
