AWESOME has announced the recipients of the 2014 AWESOME Excellence in Education scholarships. The scholarships offer female university students the opportunity to participate in the CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) Annual Global Conference.
The 2014 recipients are Hannah Bremer, a student in Supply Chain Management at the University of Kansas; Victoria Drici, a Supply Chain Management major at Lehigh University; Carla Garver, a second year MBA student with a specialization in Operations and Supply Chain at Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University; Lauryn Kulkarni, a double major in Supply Chain Management and Finance at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University; and, Nancy Odero, a Supply Chain Management major at Miami University of Ohio.
Faculty members from top universities were asked to nominate a young woman demonstrating superior supply chain leadership potential currently enrolled – and who also will be enrolled in fall of 2014 — in the university’s MBA, MS or undergraduate supply chain program. A committee of supply chain leaders selected the top five scholarship recipients.
The AWESOME scholarship covers conference registration, transportation expenses to and from the 2014 CSCMP conference location, lodging, and a stipend to cover incidental expenses. The scholarship recipients will submit an essay about their conference experience and its impact on their leadership development.
“One of the key components of AWESOME is Leadership Development – addressing the need to increase the number of women with strong leadership potential who enter the field, to fully develop the potential of up-and-coming leaders, and to improve opportunities for the next generation of women supply chain leaders,” said Ann Drake, founder of AWESOME. “The AWESOME Scholarship program helps these impressive students reap significant professional enrichment through their participation in CSCMP.”
