Two of the recent AWESOME Excellence in Education Scholars have been recognized as outstanding students by Arkansas’ Walton College. 2019 Scholar McKenzie Meehan was named one of the Outstanding Supply Chain Management Students, and 2018 Scholar Monica Sewell (who graduated last December with a double major in marketing and supply chain management) was named one of the Outstanding Marketing Students and a Senior Scholar.
Monica is working for General Mills in Minneapolis, Minnesota. McKenzie graduates in May and will also be working for General Mills – her location will be Bentonville, Arkansas. As part of their scholarship, recipients attend the CSCMP EDGE Conference and the AWESOME Symposium with funds provided by AWESOME.
Since 2013 when the scholarships were first awarded, 32 Scholars have been selected, representing 14 different schools. The 2020 Scholars will be announced in mid-May 2020.
