AWESOME moderators prepared to lead lively discussions

Four panel discussions at the AWESOME Symposium April 27-29 will carry out the themes of “Challenge…Innovate…Lead” from a variety of perspectives on women’s leadership. According to Nancy Nix, AWESOME Executive Director, “We’ve lined up leaders from a broad spectrum of roles and backgrounds who all have something in common: an orientation toward action and moving forward with a sense of urgency and confidence.”

The first panel, Supply Chain Innovation: Leading Change for Future Success, will be moderated by Stacey Taylor, SVP & Chief Procurement Officer, MGM Resorts International. Stacey has nearly 30 years of experience in procurement, purchasing and sourcing. She has served in leadership positions with ConAgra Foods from 2006-2015, most recently as Vice President of Integration, The discussion will focus on why supply chain innovation is critical to business success and how leaders can challenge their organizations, overcome barriers, and drive innovation and change.

Sandra Beach Lin, Member, Board of Directors at American Electric Power, WESCO International, PolyOne Corporation & Interface Biologics, Former President & Chief Executive Officer, Calisolar Inc., will moderate the second panel Paradigm for Parity. Beach Lin is a leader of a new coalition of 50 senior women leaders (CEOs, senior executive, founders, board members, and business academics) who have the goal of achieving parity by 2030. Panel members, outstanding male leaders from multiple industries, will discuss why this initiative is important for businesses today and what actions must be taken to achieve success.

A special session Women in Sport, developed by NIKE and moderated by Charlie Brooks, VP, NA Communications for Nike, will feature a panel of extraordinary women who have tackled challenges, exemplified leadership and achieved greatness, either on the field, on the track or in the workplace.

The fourth panel brings to the stage a panel of accomplished leaders in other fields whose topic will be Beyond Supply Chain: Taking it to the Next Level. Joanne Bauer, Board of Directors, Monicell Inc., and Aurora Healthcare, will serve as moderator. Joanne is the Former President, Health Care, Kimberly-Clark Corporation. They will offer insights about what is required to move beyond a functional role into a C-level or Board position, with advice about how to navigate that journey.
