Dr. Nancy Nix, AWESOME’s Executive Director, moderated a session powered by AWESOME at the recent “Jump Start” Conference sponsored by SMC3. Also taking part in the discussion were two other AWESOME leaders, Shari Boston, VP, Global Sourcing & Supply Chain, ConvaTec Inc., and an AWESOME Advisor, and Erin Donnelly, Director of Transportation for The Home Depot.
The discussion focused on retailers’ need to grow the omni-channel experience as more consumers elect for “click-to-buy” shopping, putting on pressure for faster, better service. The three supply chain leaders also talked about the newest and biggest challenges facing supply chains as well as what opportunities exist for 3PLs, carrier and technology solutions partners. In their responses to several polling questions, the participants indicated the single biggest demand they are getting from their customers is for greater visibility of what is happening in their supply chain.
