Natalie Putnam, Chief Commercial Officer at Verst Logistics and an AWESOME Advisor, has joined the board of the American Logistics Aid Network ALAN. ALAN is an industry-wide organization that provides supply chain assistance to disaster relief organizations and other non-profits. The Executive Director of ALAN, Kathy Fulton, is also an AWESOME leader and spoke about ALAN at the 2018 Symposium.
According to new board member Natalie, “ALAN is helping so many people affected by disasters, but they need to keep up with growing demand. We must have funding to keep ALAN viable.”
She continued, “I have 30+ years of fund raising experience with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and over 30 years in supply chain, so this is a natural fit.”
The ALAN website describes the overall focus of ALAN as “bringing the expertise and resources of the logistics industry together with non-profit disaster relief organizations to help solve their most pressing supply chain challenges immediately after disasters strike.”
One way logistics and supply chain companies can help is by offering equipment and in-kind assistance. Another way, as Natalie points out, is to donate to support ALAN’s work.
In a blog on ALAN’s website, Richard Sharpe, VP of Process and Technology, explains how the process of offering equipment and in-kind assistance works.
