Beth Ford, CEO of Land O’Lakes and recipient of the 2015 AWESOME Legendary Leadership (ALL) Award when she was EVP, Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer, was interviewed recently at the Wall Street Journal’s Future of Everything Festival.
She was asked if, as a dairy cooperative executive, she thinks the rising popularity of plant based food such as meatless burgers is a threat to the meat and dairy industries. She responded that she isn’t worried about technological innovation inside of food science labs. “I love that consumers are willing to try things, it’s exciting,” she said.
She also said that Land O’Lakes is working with local governments to make sure farmers have connectivity so they can use data to make decisions about how to run their businesses and ensure their operations are sustainable.
