AWESOME/MIT Fellowship

The AWESOME/MIT Advancing Women through Education (AWE) Fellowship

Since 2018, AWESOME and the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL) have partnered on the Advancing Women through Education (AWE) Fellowship, which provides tuition assistance for students entering the MIT Supply Chain Management master’s program. AWESOME leaders are encouraged to help a woman in their organization or network take her career to the next level by recommending she apply.

There are two pathways to an MIT master’s degree in supply chain management:

  • The 10-month, fully-residential SCM program option (SCMr)
  • The “Blended” SCM option (SCMb) combining online and on-campus study

To date, eight early-career women entering the 10-month residential master’s program have been selected to receive full-or partial-tuition awards through the AWE Fellowship program. Applicants are required to have a minimum of two years of relevant experience, strong quantitative skills, and demonstrated leadership potential.

Beginning in 2021, applicants to the SCM Blended program option can also apply for the AWE fellowship. MIT CTL’s blended (SCMb) program option allows learners to combine the affordable, online MITx MicroMasters credential with one semester on campus at MIT to earn a master’s in SCM. The blended program option provides an alternative pathway to an SCM master’s degree to non-traditional students, including those who may not have a professional or academic background in supply chain areas, and those who are unable to relocate for a full academic year.
