Michelle Halkerston, CEO of Hassett Express, recently was interviewed by Forbes for an article titled “Michelle Halkerston Bought the Company She Worked For – Should You?” In September, Michelle was one of four panelists in a session powered by AWESOME at the CSCMP Conference.
The author of the article, Cheryl Connor, describes the circumstances that led to Michelle purchasing Hassett after serving as the company’s president for ten years. In 2013, when the management team that had owned Hassett since 1980 decided to sell it, Michelle realized that “outside ownership would have a significant impact on the culture of the company.”
