Forbes names most powerful women

Forbes as announced its annual list of most powerful women, described as “the smartest and toughest female business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, philanthropists and CEOs making their mark in the world today.” A total of 15 women on the list lead companies that also have members in the AWESOME network.

Mary Barra is #5 on the list and prior to becoming CEO of General Motors, she held supply chain positions. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany is #1 and Hillary Clinton, the first woman to be the Presidential candidate of a U.S. national party is #2. Also named on the list is Gwynne Shotwell, President of SpaceX, and a member of the AWESOME network.
